“anti state” people who claim the fact that socialists and anarchists were the ones fighting against child labor and deadly working conditions is “historical revisionism” ironically are eating up actual revisionism embraced by state sanctioned education to erase anticapitalism as a factor in early worker’s rights and civil rights activism.
capitalists oligarchs didn’t give you rights, they did and do actively fight against them.
although, this is not at all surprising coming from people who draw a line between the state and ruling class that never existed.
Things “hard working” oligarchs didn’t gift you:
The 40 hour work week
Holiday pay
Overtime pay
Hazard Pay
Sick days
Holiday time
Disability insurance
Mandatory fire escapes on the job
and other basic safety standards like requiring handrails, notices for dangerous chemicals, safety equipment, asbestos abatement, etcMandatory lunch breaks
The Civil Rights Act and the EEOC

the republicans are only in the majority in the senate by two seats. at least three senators have to vote against the bill to avoid a tiebreaker by the vice president. these three senators probably represent the best chance to flip.

The ‘death panels’ turned out to be the Republican Party themselves. They have allowed money from donors corrupt their service to citizens.
Not one person voted for massive cuts to health care to the tune of $800 billion because not one Republican campaigned on that promise.
“Enabling the rich” is their lone goal.

So apparently last year the National Park Service in the US dropped an over 1200 page study of LGBTQ American History as part of their Who We Are program which includes studies on African-American history, Latino history, and Indigenous history.
Like. This is awesome. But also it feels very surreal that maybe one of the most comprehensive examinations of LGBTQ history in America (it covers sports! art! race! historical sites! health! cities!) was just casually done by the parks service.

This is a very useful and simple tool for contacting Senators, to tell them that you want to save the affordable care act.
I want these kitty friends. :3
